Amari Galle, placed at its exuberant location, oversees the blue waters and the golden, sandy shoreline of the south. The hotel organised a celebratory programme in light of their one year anniversary and invited us to catch a glimpse of what they had to offer. The guests were received to the premises with a hearty welcome, and the hotel staff, we thought, was hospitable from the get-go. [gallery size="full" columns="2" link="file" ids="15773"] We were offered a tour around the hotel, which concluded with its guests being served their signature cocktails from Amari’s Bommu Rooftop Bar. Dinner was served outdoors beneath the starry sky, wherein the premises was illuminated with bright and colourful lighting. The starter was a refreshing seafood dish accompanied with a mouth-watering soup. The mains were straight off the BBQ action station, and included of a variety of grilled meat and seafood, further presented with starchy staples such as pasta, boiled rice, and baked potato. The dessert buffet failed to disappoint as it contained all our usual favourites such as cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and cupcakes that were delectable to the palate. The night did not end there, as the guests were presented with a display of fireworks, and this we thought was the highlight of the night. [gallery link="file" columns="2" size="full" ids="15772"] The hotel itself consists of 172 rooms, all of which feature direct ocean views in five broad categories; deluxe ocean view, deluxe terrace ocean view, grand deluxe ocean view rooms, one bedroom suites, and a presidential suite. The hotel’s state-of-the-art restaurant Ahara Gourmet Gallery presents its guests with a variety of cuisines and offers guests the opportunity to interact with chefs. [gallery link="file" columns="2" size="full" ids="15771"] One feature we thought was exclusive to Amari was the Voyager Lounge for it vests a unique concept. “It is designed keeping in mind how a voyager’s needs are to be fulfilled,” said Amari Galle General Manager Puneet Dutta. This 24-hour facility essentially replicates the characteristics of any good executive airport lounge. Guests are granted the opportunity to unwind and recharge their mood at Breeze Spa. The spa features an array of facial treatments, body treatments, spa therapies, and salon services. That being said, the hotel entails a fitness facility, a supervised kids’ club for the youngsters, and a ballroom capable of accommodating approximately 250 people.
