Budget 2021: Rishad to be present for final vote

By Skandha Gunasekara MP Rishad Bathuideen will attend the third reading vote of the Budget 2021, but his attendance for the debates will be restricted, it is learnt. “He will be attending the third reading vote of the Budget,” Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake told The Morning. He said that Bathuideen’s attendance of third reading debates was restricted and yet to be decided. “As it stands, MP Bathuideen will not be attending the debates as he is in remand prison. The party leaders would have to make a decision on whether he will be allowed to attend.” He said that members in remand prison were currently not allowed to attend Parliament. “Because of the coronavirus situation within the prison system, MPs in remand prisons are not allowed to attend parliament sessions.”
