Bus fares increased according to COVID-19 risk levels

The government has planned to allow an increase of bus fares based on the risk level of COVID-19 situation in respective areas. State Minister of Vehicle Regulation, Bus Transport Services and Train Compartments and Motor Car Industry, Dilum Amunugama stated that bus fares will be increased according to the risk level of certain areas under the new national policy on transport introduce in future. Accordingly, if an area designated as a high risk for COVID 19, bus fares will also be increased in the locality, the minister said.
