C.D. Wickremaratne assumed duties as Sri Lanka's 35th Inspector General of Police a short while ago, stated Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
Wickremeratne, a distinguished officer in the police department with 33 year career was appointed as the acting IGP following the Easter Sunday attack as then IGP Pujith Jayasundara was interdicted pending investigations.
