The Cabinet of Ministers has yesterday approved the importation of 7 million Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine doses, the government said today.
It said that the decision had been taken with the approval of the Cabinet Approved Negotiation Committee, and the approval of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA). The estimated cost of the doses is USD 69.65 million.
The government said this was a step in the Health Ministry's mission to vaccinate 14 million people against COVID, while the first step is to vaccinate 5 million people.
