Cabinet Ministers are to donate a month's salary to the Covid-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund maintained by the Presidential Secretariat, Energy and Commuter Transport Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera told The Morning.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will also donate his salary, Amaraweera added.
Amaraweera further noted that over 5000 employees of the CEYPETCO and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminal ltd. (CPST Ltd) will contribute a day's salary amounting to Rs. 14.2 million to the Fund.
With corporate, individual donations and direct donations, the Fund‘s balance has now surpassed Rs. 822 million.
