Cabinet nod for Vote on Account to be presented to Parliament

The Cabinet approved a proposal by the Government yesterday to present a Vote on Account (VoA) to allocate state expenditure during the first four months of 2020 as it would be impractical to present a fully-fledged budget in the wake of a presidential election.

The newly elected president will also have the authority to dissolve parliament after March. In such a case the new government that takes office next year will present a fully-fledged budget for 2020.
