Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on parliament today (19) to summon officials from Litro Gas Company before the parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) to question them on the delay in distributing LP gas cylinders to the market.
Wickremesinghe explained that the government had paid for the LP gas shipment and is docked at the Port waiting to be unloaded.
He added that while it was decided to fill cylinders and distribute via lorries to the market directly from the Port, Litro had failed to send the lorries even by 8pm last night.
