Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi today (23) stated that the authorities and the citizens of the country can control the third wave of Covid-19 if they adhere to the imposed restrictions.
Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has instructed that those who violate the health guidelines imposed by the Covid Task Force be severely punished.
She was addressing the media after a ceremony at the Kalutara Hospital.
The Minister said that it would be difficult to save the country if such severe punishments were not meted out, adding that the Police and the Ministry of Health would work together to enforce the law in this regard.
The Minister further said, “We can save this country. We are confident that this disease can be eradicated. We were able to do that in the first and second Covid wave. Suppressing the third wave is not a difficult task."
