The ward for cancer patients at the Badulla Hospital has been temporarily closed, the Badulla hospital stated today.
It has been closed with the identification of 31 Covid patients from that ward.
Accordingly, a doctor, a hospital staff member, 29 patients and a nurse have been identified as COVID positive.
PCR reports yesterday confirmed that another nurse and two junior staff members were also infected with the virus after a nurse who worked in the ward was diagnosed with Covid on the 2nd.
