Cardinal appears for 2nd time before PCoI
Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcom Ranjith today appeared for the second time before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry(PCoI) probing the Easter attacks.
The Cardinal recorded a four-hour-long statement with the PCoI at the Commission’s office at BMICH yesterday(6).
Former President Maithripala Sirisena appointed a five-member Commission 21 September this year to inquire into the Easter Sunday Bombings that killed more than 250 people.
This commission was appointed in addition to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry(PCoI)appointed in April and the Parliamentary Select Committee(PSC) appointed in May.
Last month, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa upon a request made by Cardinal Malcom Ranjith assured that justice will be served and that a new independed commission will be appointed to investigate into the incident.
