Central Bank Customer Care Department: 30 complaints recorded daily

By Skandha Gunasekara The recently set up Financial Consumer Relations Department at the Central Bank receives an estimated 30 complaints a day. Department Head J.P. Gamlath told The Morning that they had begun receiving a high number of complaints since its inception. “A lot of complaints have been received. Daily, we are getting about 30 complaints roughly,” he said. He said the most common complaints were about the debt moratorium. “General complaints are about debt moratorium issues. We also receive queries about loans.” The new Department was established on 10 August this year.
