Central Mail Exchange reopened today

09 Nov 2020

With the easing of the curfew, the disinfected Central Mail Exchange has reopened today (09) for a limited number of duties, Post Master General Ranjith Ariyaratne said. Although the duties were carried out under the curfew with the use of a limited staff, the Central Mail Exchange decided to suspend its operations from the 5th November after three employees on three occasions were found to have contracted COVID-19 when the staff was subjected to random PCR testing. The facility was closed for disinfection and will be opened from tomorrow for limited number of operations. Accordingly, the International Express Mail (EMS Courier), Business Mail and Domestic Express Courier services (SL Post Courier) will be operating from today.
