Certain short-term use plastics banned from March 31

The Central Environmental Authority announces that the ban on single-use and short-term use plastics will be implemented from March 31 by the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2211/51 No. 21 of 2021 relating to plastics regulation. Accordingly, the ban has been applied to polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) liquid for packaging agrochemicals used in any process, trade or industry. Accordingly, the use of the following specific plastic items for trade or industry is prohibited. Sachet equivalent of 20 ml / l net weight or less than 20 gm (except for use in food and medicine packaging), inflatable toys - (in balloons, balls, floating / swimming pools) and Cotton Buds (excluding plastic Cotton Buds used for medical / clinical treatment) is prohibited.
