The driver of event organizer Chandimal Jayasinghe has been arrested today (02) for violating traffic rules.
Police Media Spokesman, DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the suspect was arrested for driving dangerously on the road in front of the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
Chandimal Jayasinghe and model Piumi Hansamali were arrested by the Fort Police and produced before court in connection with a party held at a five star hotel in Colombo recently.
The police spokesman said that after being granted bail by the court, Mr. Chandimal Jayasinghe had posted on social media about a traffic violation while traveling in his vehicle.
The police spokesman said that an investigation carried out by the Colombo Municipal Traffic Division had revealed that Chandimal Jayasinghe's driver was driving dangerously. He further stated that the driver and the vehicle were taken into police custody later today.
The suspect was produced before court today (02). After the suspect pleaded guilty, the Hulftsdorp Magistrate's Court imposed a fine of Rs. 12,500 on him.
