Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s youngest son, Rohitha Rajapaksa (Chichi), was last week in the spotlight due to social media reports that he had decided to play an active role in cricket in Sri Lanka and was also vying for a top slot in the country’s cricket administration.
However, the young Rajapaksa immediately denied the reports, saying he had no intention of playing any role in the country’s cricket administration.
Rumours about Rajapaksa started to make the rounds after he attended a cricket practice session recently at a sports club in Kalutara.
It was later learnt that Rajapaksa had attended the practice session following an invitation from one of his schoolmates.
The practice session, it is learnt, was in preparation for a friendly cricket tournament scheduled to be held in Dubai from 1-9 November 2021. The respective tournament includes several teams represented by old boys from several boys’ schools in Colombo, including S.
