Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said that it is normal for one party in an agreement to send a letter of demand to the other.
He made this statement during a media brief held yesterday (08) in response to the demand of damages made by the controversial Chinese fertiliser company over the contaminated fertiliser issue.
"This is an act of trade, it is normal for one party to send a letter of demand to the other party. This, by no means, would affect the sovereignty of the nation," said Kariyawasam.
He further requested the media to not give an incorrect interpretation to the demands made by the Chinese fertiliser company.
