The CID has recorded a statement from Sunday Observer Journalist Anurangi Priyamvada Singh over the Swiss Embassy staffer incident.
This was revealed when the case was taken up before Colombo Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (11).
On the 21 of Jan CID informed court that probes into Gania Francis’s SIM card uncovered calls made to former Director of the CID Shani Abeysekara, former CID Inspector Nishantha Silva, former Chairman of Lake House Krishantha Cooray and former Observer Editor Darisha Bastian.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate then ordered the CID to send Ganiya’s mobile phone to the Government Analyst and obtain an analysis report.
The CID also informed court that Darisha Bastian and Krishantha Cooray had gone abroad.
Senior State Counsel Lakmini Girihagama, speaking on behalf of the CID today (11) told court that Anurangi Singh was summoned to the CID yesterday(10) to record a statement with regard to Dharisha Bastian.CID records statement from Sunday Observer journalist
