The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has completed the investigations into the abduction and disappearance of cartoonist Prageeth Ekneligoda and the extracts of the probe were handed over to the Attorney General on Friday, a senior official of the Police Department told The Sunday Morning.
Sources, however, said that the extracts do not contain investigations into the possible role played by the military intelligence into the disappearance, as the Army did not cooperate with the investigations.
Eknaligoda was reported missing on 24 January 2010 – two days before the presidential election.
In December, investigations concluded that Ekneligoda was last in Army custody before he went missing and that the Army had not been giving its full backing to the investigations as the main suspects were military intelligence officers.CID submits probe extracts to AG
