With the fuel and economic crisis, there are queues of people which are kilometers long, the people are suffering and facing a major crisis, but the President of Sri Lanka and the Prime Minister is nowhere to be seen, says Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa.
He made this statement while speaking in Parliament today (04).
"The President needs to at least say something to bring some relief to the emotional pain the citizens are facing. There isn't even a glimpse of hope in the horizon. By being in the opposition, we don't gain anything from the suffering of the people. We are also making an effort to bring upon some relief. If anyone thinks that by bringing Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Prime Minister would gain some trust in the international community, they are mistaken. He is a failed candidate who only came into parliament through the national list," he said.
He further urged the parliamentarians to stop playing games and instead unite to bring upon a change in the country and reach out to the international community to receive aid.
