A plan must be adopted to protect the Government and the Trincomalee Oil Tanks from being taken away again, and a protest might have to be staged to achieve that says Senior Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya Ven. (Dr) Kapugollawe Anandikiththi Thero.
He made this statement while speaking to Cabinet Minister and Spokesperson Dullas Alahaperuma yesterday (06).
"There is a huge problem regarding the Trincomalee oil tank farm. The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and the The National Organisation also opposes it. Now several groups and entities are trying to gain control of this. We must adopt a plan that would protect the Government and the Oil tanks. We might have to stage a protest to achieve that. As Buddhist monks, along with you, we oppose this," said the Thero.
He further told the Minister to not consider the monks as enemies, as they are only taking steps to protect Sri Lanka's national assets.
