CMC looks into using clinics in quarantine affairs

29 Oct 2020

The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) is expecting to use the buildings, mostly community centres, that house CMC clinics as quarantine centres for suspected COVID-19 patients or their contacts, Mayor Rosy Senanayake stated. Speaking to the media yesterday, the Mayor said the municipality would be able to transform 35 community centres accordingly. "We are already making arrangements in this regard and have allocated funds," she said. She also said the CMC would take measures to distribute dry rations among the citizens living in areas where the quarantine curfew has been imposed. Meanwhile, the Mayor said about 1,150 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in eight days within the municipality
