The Colombo Chief Magistrate has decided to transfer former Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne's bail application to another Court.
Senaratne was arrested and produced before Court on the 13th of May after the Colombo High Court rejected the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s bail order on Senaratna.
The former Minister was ordered to be remanded until today (27th May) by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.
In December last year, Senaratne was arrested and remanded over ‘white van’ media briefing held in November.
On 30 December, Colombo Magistrate’s Court ordered the release of Senaratne.
However, the Attorney General filed a revision application on January 08 challenging the decision of the Magistrate’s Court to grant bail to Senaratne.
