The road from Colombo to Kandy has been closed and drivers are urged to take alternate routes for travel.
This was announced by the Roads Development Authority (RDA).
The Kadugannawa road will be temporarily closed after 10.00 pm tonight due to a possible landslide near the 98th km post on the Colombo-Kandy main road. Only one lane will remain open until 10 pm, said the Director General of the Road Development Authority, Sardha Weerakoon.
Officials of the National Building Research Institute and the RDA will be inspecting the roads at 7.00 am tomorrow and will announce the opening hours of the road accordingly.
