Committee appointed to provide relief to electricity consumers overcharged
The Minister of Power, Energy and Transport Mahinda Amaraweera has appointed a four member Committee to look into irregularities in electricity bills during the pandemic.
Accordingly, the Committee will look into providing relief to customers who have been overcharged.
Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) had received complaints from a large number of consumers noting that they had been overcharged for their power usage during the pandemic.
The Committee has been requested to provide a report by next week.
