The full report of the committee appointed to inquire into the recent Mahara prison unrest is due to be handed over to the Justice Minister on the 30th of December, Justice Minister Ali Sabry said.
Minister Sabry appointed a committee to look into the Mahara prison unrest, with retired High Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena as its chairperson. In addition, President's Counsel UR de Silva, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Justice Rohana Hapugaswatte, former Commissioner of Prisons Gamini Jayasinghe and former DIG Lalinda Ranaweera are other members.
