The Colombo Magistrate's Court has issued warrants on the two individuals who appeared during a ‘white van’ press briefing organised by former Minister Rajitha Senaratne in the run up to the presidential elections last year (10 November).
The Court has ordered the arrest of the two persons as they had failed to appear in court today.
The two individuals Anthony Douglas Fernando and Athula Sanjeewa Madanayake made controversial statements over alleged abductions, assassinations, forced disappearances that took place during the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime.
In December last year , the CID launched a probe into the media conference following a complaint lodged by an individual named Kumudu Pradeep Sanjeewa Perera.
