The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) will await instructions from the health authorities with regard to court proceedings amidst a spike in Covid-19 patients.
“We are waiting on the advice of the health services on the continuation of court hearings. We have not taken any decision yet,” BASL Secretary Rajeev Amarasuriya told The Morning.
He said that thus far, all court proceedings are to continue as scheduled.
“Court proceedings islandwide will remain the same. No changes have been made. We will reassess the situation once the health services issue notice,” he said.
On Tuesday (14), officials of the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court were quarantined when a person who tested positive for Covid-19 had attended court proceedings.
