The patient has been identified as a Navy officer .
Sri Lanka Navy said the patient was among the 53 Navy personnel who had tested positive for the virus yesterday (27).
The patient and his primary contacts have been placed under isolation.
Navy officers were engaged in renovation work on the building prior to the pandemic, and the building was later isolated by the Navy to manage certain COVID-19 related operations following the outbreak in the Welisara Navy Camp.
"The building was used to provide essential services to Navy officers who were subject to quarantine at the Welisara Navy Camp," Navy Spokesman Isuru Suriyabandara said.
The Navy has requested the public not to panic as measures have been taken to quarantine the remaining 200 Navy officers within the building itself.
