In addition, steps have also been taken to temporarily suspend the admission of residents of quarantine curfew areas to ensure the health and safety of other devotees, he said.
The Diyawadana Nilame pointed out that these measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the devotees who visit Sri Dalada Maligawa daily and to maintain the traditional Dalada Pooja rituals, in the backdrop of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Furthermore, devotees will only be admitted to the temple premises after the proper implementation of hygienic procedures such as wearing face masks, washing hands, and checking body temperature, he added.
