Minister gives month’s salary
Employees of the Transport Services Management Ministry, including the Ministry Secretary and other senior officials, have decided to contribute part of their salaries to the Covid-19 Social Security Fund.
Accordingly, the ordinary employees have decided to contribute a day’s pay while the additional secretaries would contribute three day’s salary and the Secretary and State Secretary would contribute two week’s pay to the fund.
Meanwhile, Transport Services Management Minister Mahinda Amarweera on Wednesday (20) contributed his salary for the month of May to the President for the fund.
The Ministry Secretary has said that all employees of the Ministry had volunteered to contribute to the Covid-19 Fund.
