They further stated that by bringing the vaccination into Sri Lanka, the opportunity to revive the economy at the earliest possible instance would be created, and the tourism sector limitations could also improve at the same time. The discussions also focused on the problematic areas of Covid-19 prevention and their control measures, how medical experts should assist and advise the Ministry of Health, and also focussed on improving adult healthcare facilities for rural and urban low-income earners.   During this period, the importance of continuing medical education, nursing education, as well as medical laboratory technology education was brought to the attention of the State Minister by medical experts. State Minister Secretary Dr. Amal Harsha de Silva; University of Kelaniya Medical Faculty Professors Janaka de Silva, Anuja Premawardhana, and Arjuna de Silva; University of Ruhuna Medical Faculty Prof. Sarath Lekamwasam; National Institute for Infectious Diseases (IDH) Specialist Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama; National Hospital of Sri Lanka Specialist Dr. Pradeep Kumarasinghe; and Gampaha Government Hospital Respiratory Specialist Dr. Bodhika Samarasekara were present at the discussion.
