Lawmakers who criticise shortcomings while avoiding collective responsibility depicts their incompetence, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said yesterday (07) during an event held in Monaragala.
These remarks were expressed while he addressed the inaugural ceremony of the 1,000 New National Schools establishment programme at the Siyambalanduwa Maha Vidyalaya.
The President added that lawmakers have a collective responsibility to face setbacks as a team.
Such remarks come in the wake of the President stripping former State Minister Susil Premajayantha of his Ministerial portfolio soon after Premajayantha expressed critical views of the Government to the media recently.
