CSC and Sail Lanka to promote nautical tourism

Ceylon Shipping Corporation Ltd. (CSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sail Lanka Yachting Group with the expectation of promoting nautical tourism, which mainly consisted of cruising and yachting as well as establishing a passenger transport system by ferries.  Ceylon Shipping Corporation Chairman Wineendra Weeraman and Sail Lanka Yachting Group Managing Director Kaushal Rajapakse signed a MoU at the CSC premises last Monday (11) with the intention of fastening the business relationships between the aforesaid two entities. The initial focus in this regard has been given in order to develop the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, since it has been identified as a location with potential to develop coastal tourism and shipping for leisure. Weeraman established a passenger transport service along the coastal belt of the island as well as amongst neighboring countries, such as India and the Maldives. Further, Sail Lanka Yachting Group was launched in 2014 and was pioneered by former Consul of the Honorary Consulate of Belgium in Sri Lanka Pierre Pringiers.  Sail Lanka Yachting Group manufactures as well as designs luxury catamarans and exports internationally. They charter luxury cruises around the country in order to launch in the Maldives in the near future.
