The government has taken measures to relax curfew imposed in several districts. The curfew in all districts except Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Kegalle, Kandy, Puttalam and Ampara districts, will be lifted at 5.00 am on Monday (20) and re-imposed at 8.00 pm on the same day. After the 20th April , Curfew in these districts will be in force from 8.00 pm to 5.00 am on a daily basis until further notice. Curfew in Alawathugoda, Akurana, Warakapola and Akkaraipattu police areas in Kandy, Kegalle and Ampara districts will not be relaxed. However, the curfew in the rest of the police areas in these three districts will be lifted at 5.00 am and re-imposed at 8.00 pm from April 20. Meanwhile, the curfew imposed in the below mentioned police areas in the Colombo, Gampaha , Puttalum and Kalutara will continue until further notice. Colombo District: Kotahena, Grandpass, Bambalapitya, Keselwatte, Maradana, Gothatuwa, Mulleriyawa, Wellampitiya, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala and Kohuwala police areas Gampaha District: Ja-Ela, Kochchikade and Seeduwa police areas Puttalam District: Puttalam, Marawila and Wennappuwa police areas Kalutara District: Bandaragama, Payagala, Beruwala and Aluthgama police areas The curfew in the rest of the police divisions in the aforementioned four districts will be lifted from 5am to 8pm every day from April 22nd. If any area where the curfew has been relaxed happens to be identified as a risk village or a zone, curfew will be re-imposed limiting only to such area. No one will be permitted to enter or leave areas designated as isolated. In those Police Divisions where the curfew is in force, main roads can be used only for the purpose of providing essential services. Even in the Police Divisions where the curfew is lifted utilization of main roads will be limited only for essential purposes including traveling to work. Movements between districts will not be allowed except for essential services including office work.
