Curfew imposed in Colombo, Gampaha, Kaluthara and Puttalam districts will continue until further notice.
In other districts from today (4) to 6th May curfew will be imposed on a daily basis from 8 pm to 5 am. From 8 pm on 6th May curfew will continue until 5 am on 11 May.
While the curfew is in force in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam, the resumption of civilian life and state and private sector activities will begin from Monday, 11
th May.
Even though this measure was to be introduced from today (4), the government took into consideration the 4 days of leave in the week, and postponed it to 11 May.
Note to Private and Public sector Institutes
- The heads of the private and public institutes must prepare to open offices on the 11th of May.
- SLTB buses and trains will be allocated only for the state and private sector working crowd.
- The heads of the private and public institutes have to decided the number of employees that need to report to work
- The private sector offices are required to commence work at 10.00 am
- The heads of the private and public institutes must ensure that health procedures are followed.
Who are permitted to leave the house?
- Those who are employed and need to report to work.
- Those who want to purchase essential goods or medicines.
The National Identity Card (NIC) rule applies to which areas and from when?
- To areas where the curfew is imposed
- From 11th May
- When the curfew is relaxed the rule is not applicable.
The public is advised not to gather in large crowds when curfew is relaxed.
