Customs confiscate over two million cigarette sticks

[gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="97005,97006,97007,97008,97009,97010"] Sri Lanka Customs confiscated a consignment of 2,353,780 cigarette sticks that were imported without a license stating it was soft tobacco that were to be re-exported under hub operations. The street value of the consignment was estimated at 133.6 million. The consignment was to handed over to the Ceylon Tobacco Company for disposal following investigations. It was further revealed that the consignment was imported from a European country via Dubai to Sri Lanka.   Photos Saman Abesiriwardana
