Customs intercept and seize largest haul of ‘Ecstasy’
The largest haul of Methamphetamine pills, also known as ‘Ecstasy’ was intercepted by the Central Mail Exchange today (04).
An average of about 5,500 pills worth Rs. 27 million had been smuggled into Sri Lanka hidden in a subwoofer of a Hi-Fi system from Belgium.
Customs Officers had seized the haul and had arrested a 52-year old person in the process who had come to acquire the package from the Central Mail Exchange this morning (04).
Further investigations are being conducted into this haul.
