The Narcotics Division of the Sri Lanka Customs has seized the largest stock of illegal drug pills seized in South Asia, Customs Department said.
The consignment of drugs valued at Rs. 135 million, with 18,000 pills and weighed 9kgs was seized at the Central Mail Exchange.
The drugs had been sent from Belgium to to an address in Colombo 05.
The drugs were found during an investigation carried out by the Sri Lanka Customs on several parcels received by the Central Mail Exchange, stated the Customs Department.
Further, eight packets of tobacco were also seized during the investigation.
