The Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) has decided to suspend the party membership of Agarapathana Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Kadir Selvam for violating the quarantine instructions, CWC General Secretary Jeevan Thondaman’s Media Secretary said.
“Selvam had attended a number of political rallies in defiance of quarantine instructions. It has also been decided to hold a disciplinary inquiry against him," the media secretary said.
Further, it was revealed that by the time the PS Chairman was subjected to a PCR test and self-quarantine by the Health Department, he had already participated in three meetings attended by Ministers and MPs without informing the General Secretary State Minister Thondaman.
