Decaying LPG filling machine: Committee appointed

Udaya Gammanpila, Minister of Power and Energy has appointed a three member committee to look into an LPG gas filling machine that has been decaying in the Sapugaskanda area, worth Rs. 400 m. The ministry said in a statement that the committee was appointed based on recent reports in leading Sri Lankan newspapers. The committee is chaired by Chief Internal Auditor of the Ministry of Energy D. P. S. J. Kumara while the other members of the committee are Internal Audit Manager, Petroleum Corporation, Indika Ranasinghe and Deputy Manager (Electrical and Equipment), Sapugaskanda Refinery, G. M. R. Perera. The report of this committee should be submitted to the Minister within three days and accordingly the Minister of Energy will take further steps in this regard.
