Deepika Padukone talks about new film set to be filmed in Sri Lanka before coronavirus pandemic

In a recent interview, Deepika Padukone got candid on what her next film with Shakun Batra was about.

Deepika along with the entire team were set to begin their shoot schedule in Sri Lanka but due to the ongoing situation that called for a nationwide lockdown, the process of bringing it all together has come to a halt until normalcy resumes.

After the pandemic lockdown, Shakun’s film is what she will immediately start with.

The star revealed how the narrative of the film is about people and relationships — the facet that’s closer to her heart.

The actress also spoke about what she and her director share in common, like their similar film choices and much more.

The Chhapaak actress also spoke about how she is looking forward to working with Shakun who directed Kapoor & Sons — a movie that she absolutely loved, which happened to revolve around a similar narrative of relationships and people.

Padukone who never fails to mesmerise audiences, is always seen experimenting with different roles. From playing Veronica, Leela, Padmavati to Malti she has aced all her characters. The actress was last seen in Chhapaak which was directed by Meghna Gulzar.

Talking about the same, the actress spoke about how she relates to the director and what makes her look forward to getting onto the sets.

Joining Deepika Padukone in Shakun Batra’s untitled film will be Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday giving us a never-before-seen trio on-screen. The film is slated to release on February 12, 2021.
