Further to the statement made in Parliament by State Minister of Education Reforms, Open Universities and Distance Learning Promotion Susil Premajayantha on the delaying of the Garde 5 scholarship exams and the Advanced Level examinations, Samagi Jana Balawegaya leader Sajith Premadasa stated that G L Peiris has not done a good job despite being "extremely educated".
"Educating students online has been completely halted. Solutions to the issues of teachers should be through cordial discussions. As the new minister you should intervene and hold discussions with the Ministry of Finance in this regard. Because, we must regrettably remind you that despite being a well-renowned and educated Professor, G L Peiris did not take any steps to fulfill any of the promises he made in this Parliament," stated Premadasa.
