Difficult decisions should be taken to manage the economy: Keheliya

Minister of Mass Media and Information, Cabinet Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella says that in the current situation, even the most difficult decisions have to be taken in managing the entire economy of the country. He was speaking at a media briefing today (15) regarding the fuel price hike. Meanwhile, as various sections of the government are expressing different views regarding the increase in fuel prices, journalists questioned the government's stance regarding the increase in fuel prices. Keheliya Rambukwella, Minister of Mass Media and Information, Cabinet Spokesman said , "The fuel price hike is a decision taken in the light of the current situation in the management of the country's overall economy. Therefore, we have to take some difficult decisions that are not in the best interests of the people. I see this as a difficult decision and we must all accept this responsibility. However, we are of the view that we should be vigilant about the people's plight after enforcing it. Therefore, we are constantly talking about programs to provide relief to certain groups. "
