Former DIG Nalaka de Silva was taken into custody after the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) questioned him over the plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and Opposition VIPs.
The former DIG was questioned for a combined 56 hours by the CID over his alleged involvement in the plot. He is due to be presented before the Fort Magistrate tonight.
