Nihal Wedaarachchi, the brother of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dilip Wedaarachchi was placed under arrest yesterday (11).
According to Police Spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police and Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa, he was taken into custody in connection with the violent incidents that took place on 9 May.
The arrestee was said to be produced before court yesterday. The Tangalle Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
Nihal Wedaarachchi is a former member of the Southern Provincial Council.
