Dilum Amunugama to improve police-public relationship

  Owing to many conflicts that have arisen in recent times between the Police and the public, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa seeks to resolve these issues through the creation and promotion of a healthy environment between law enforcement and the community, newly appointed State Minister for Community Police Services Dilum Amunugama told The Morning yesterday (3). “We saw a lot of conflicts between the Police and the public. The President needs to solve these issues first and promote a healthy environment between the Police and the community.” According to Amunugama, the President also believes in gaining the support of the community to defeat the menace of illegal drugs and other such issues.  Amunugama took oaths in his new position in the presence of President Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday and will commence duties today (4) at the State Ministry premises. Amunugama is also the State Minister of Vehicle Regulation, Bus Transport Services, and Train Compartments and Motor Car Industry.
