Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said today in Parliament that former Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe would join the upcoming COVID-19 meetings.
Responding to a question by an Opposition MP, Minister Wanniarachchi said Dr. Jasinghe was given a promotion as the Environmental Ministry Secretary.
“However, we will get him back for COVID-19 meetings from now on,”she said.
Meanwhile, she said Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara stepped down voluntarily as the Ministry Spokesperson after the new Health Services Director General was appointed.
“Dr. Jayaruwan’s appointment was temporary until the new Health Services Director General was appointed,” she said.
