Many have been aware of the Easter attacks before it occurred, including the president and senior officials who failed in their duties as it was done intentionally to win votes, says Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
He made this statement while speaking to a congregation at a mass today (02).
"They wanted to win the election and that was the motive behind this, they wanted to tell everyone that they would serve justice to the country. Otherwise they would have revealed everything to the country, whereas the officials protected themselves but the innocent people were made scape goats," he said.
The Cardinal further added that the people's struggle will emerge victorious ultimately and that his visit to Italy was to show everyone that he would not succumb to anyone's power.
"The Pope sent me a letter asking what needs to be done. For three years we have asked for justice," he concluded.
