In a statement issued yesterday (20), former President Maithripala Sirisena denied the allegations levelled against him by former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry PCoI) probing Easter Sunday Attacks on Friday (18).
The former Defence Secretary said the former President had attempted to coerce former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara into claiming responsibility for the entire travesty and resign with the promise of an ambassadorial role and other privileges.
